Title: Medical Outreach Intern
Location: Quincy, MA
Position: 20-40 hours/week
Position Purpose:
The Associate Medical Outreach Intern will be responsible for maintaining and updating our internal databases with communications within the medical industry. We will need this person to find and help make contact with family networks across the Northeast that service families of children with life threatening illnesses. Communication will be mainly done through emails and phone calls with medical professionals across all parts of the Northeast. Some minor participation in meetings may also be required to learn our pitch and get acclimated to the environment. The position will require you to learn about the different areas of the hospital and putting together detailed outlines of new regional hospitals as we expand. Efficient navigation skills of the internet and hospital websites will need to be developed.
Essential Functions:
Assist with the research and development of our network of Medical Network
Attend occasional Draft Days and report back on the experience for Family and Team
Set up meetings for Director of Medical outreach across the Northeast
Draft and edit written correspondence to Social Workers, Nurses, Doctors, and Child Life Specialists
Update and maintain database/content management systems
Follow up with pediatricians in the Northeast
Various office duties as assigned by Team IMPACT staff

Title: Athletic Outreach Intern
Location: Quincy, MA
Position: 20-40 hours/week
Position Purpose:
The Associate Athletic Outreach Intern will report to the Director of Athletic Outreach and be responsible for research, database management and growing our network of athletic departments and student-athletes. This position will involve working with our current roster of On Campus Ambassadors to continually grow our network and foster the relationships with these student-athletes to maintain their interest and active participation. It will involve help with social media maintenance and updates to continually improve our exposure through social networks. Furthermore, this position will involve research and database maintenance of athletic departments and preparation for the growth and expansion of regions beyond the Northeast.
Essential Functions:

Share your current network of students/family/friends to help extend our reach of teams/children

Title: Journalist-Marketing/Communications Intern
Location: Quincy, MA
Position: 20-40 hours/week
Position Purpose:
The Journalist-Marketing/Communications Coordinator will report to the Director of Outreach and Communications and play an integral role in creating and distributing stories and other relevant content. The primary goal of the role is to develop stories, increase awareness and interest in Team IMPACT.
Essential Functions:
Maintaining an active dialogue with the participating teams and families in order to capture the essence of these Team IMPACT relationships. It further involves interviewing program participants (teams and families), developing story lines, capturing relevant quotes, and writing a variety of short stories and articles that will be posted and published in a variety of traditional and social media
Taking photos and videos, or coordinating others that are able to capture this content at campuses and medical settings across the Northeast
Participate in the design and development of a high quality newsletter on a Quarterly basis
Play an integral role in the development and execution of email marketing campaigns focused on the expansion of our medical network into new geographies
Draft and edit written correspondence to College Sports Information Directors, as well as journalists at college papers, local town newspapers as well as larger regional media outlets (i.e. pitching stories to the Boston Globe, NECN, NESN and other such news and media outlets)
Participate in 'Draft Days' in order to capture content (pictures and videos) and further develop relationships with program participants
Participate in the creation and scripting of various internal/external training and orientation videos (i.e. upgrading the i-movie video we use to prepare the athletes to understand how best to interact with a child facing a life threatening illness)
Helping with social media maintenance and updates to continually improve our exposure through social networks to include:
- The Team IMAPCT website www.goteamimpact.org
- Our Facebook page and Twitter Account
- Posting relevant content on the Facebook pages of other key constituents, partners and participants
- Developing and executing other social media strategies to increase our overall reach and exposure
Establish joint marketing and cross-linking arrangements and agreements with other likeminded non-profits that serve a similar population of families and children (i.e. Coaches against Cancer)
Update and maintain database (eTapestry)/content management systems
Various office duties as assigned by Team IMPACT staff

Compensation:
Most of these opportunities represent unpaid internships. However, for ideal candidates that have prior relevant experience there are opportunities for hourly compensation and/or for these roles to evolve into paid co-op and/or full-time positions.
